About this hook
A wire gate has almost nothing to freeze, clog or flutter. That is why it rides on packs, bottles, gym bags and dog leads more than any other clip we make.
Three sizes live on this hook: the 8kN nano at 0.39 oz for keys and zipper pulls, the 12kN black D four pack for backpacking, and the 15kN offset D in five colours for the heavy daily stuff. All are 7075 aluminium with a stainless spring wire, none are for climbing.

What is a wiregate carabiner good for?
Anything you clip and unclip often with one hand: water bottles, keys, gym bags, dog leads, kayak gear. The wire gate is light and does not freeze or stick.
Which size fits on a keyring?
The 8kN nano, at 2.37 inches and 0.39 oz, is the one we would put on a keyring. The 15kN is better on a pack strap.
Can I hang a hammock from a 15kN wiregate?
A 15kN wiregate is strong enough for a hammock, but it does not lock. For anything you sleep in, we prefer a locking clip from the everyday locking line.
